The Tuscan Child

I get lost in Rhys Bowen’s WWII stories. This story takes place in a remote area of Tuscany during the Nazi occupation. I became intrigued with the Tuscan countryside, the downed English pilot, and the young Italian woman who saved him. A beautiful story of her sacrifice and his long road to recovery inside a bomb-out monastery. The dual timelines between father and daughter pieced the story together beautifully and I thought I knew how the story would end but was I completely wrong! A highly recommended story from a very gifted author.
